Welcome to Royal Overseas University College (ROUC), Accra, Ghana, West Africa and to the official website, www.rouc.ac.
Royal Overseas University College Limited (ROUC) is an educational institution in Ghana [registration number CS156932019]. It is currently engaged with the Ghana Tertiary Commission and Ministry of Education to seeking recognition before entering Our underpinning desire at ROUC is to work closely with other educational and ‘world practice’ institutions to together facilitate innovation, creativity and enterprise in a manner which produces truly positive impact on human resource development and economic well-being. Our overriding raison d’etre is the development and delivery of high quality, ‘fit-for-purpose’ education and training provision, facilitating access for all and ‘value for money learning experience’. And with predominant concern for climate and poverty alleviation – including effective use of green technology to enhance sustainable development. We are based in Accra in a desirable educational enclave (North Legon) which is highly conducive to learning, providing a safe environment for our students in the vibrant capital city of Ghana, Accra. Accra has become one of the lead educational hubs in Africa.
ROUC has been established as a Social Enterprise - bringing a British brand of high-quality academic education with a view attracting high standard of education from other European countries, Asia, Australia, and north America where many of our professors have worked. We strongly believe that education must be linked to industrial, communal, personal, national and internal development. That is why many of our professors and directors also work as consultants for corporates and governments. We deliver management and professional skills training, not just for Ghanaians but within the three regions of West, Central Africa and East Africa.
At ROUC the courses we offer include business management accounting and finance studies, Health and Social Care, Information Technology, environmental management studies and cosmetology. Qualifications ranging from Levels 1 to 7 are awarded. Detailed list of the courses being offered is elsewhere in this website under the title Courses

Student Benefits

ROUC has a clear progression route through our partner organizations with who we work, a few awarding bodies, universities other higher education institutions in the UK, Europe, India, Canada and possibly Australia where one of professors is currently teaching. All of our courses are linked to an approved awarding body and, in the main, involve course work-based assessment or a balanced mix of examination and coursework. We offer academic and vocational study opportunities on courses of short to medium period duration.
Ghana has become an important educational and training center for the people in the sub- regions of Africa. With the rapid increase in higher educational institutions and the associate political stability and development, Ghana has begun to attract students from all over Africa. As far afield as Zambia, Zimbabwe, Chad, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Benin, Niger, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria which, in total, place around thousands of students into Ghanaian higher educational establishments. ROUC works closely with partner institutions linked to awarding bodies such as OTHM. ROUC has been established relying solely on similar institutions or awarding bodies in the UK initially for the awards and accreditation for qualifications progression for further studies and shared job prospects. The students will be awarded degrees, diplomas, certificates from the awarding bodies in the UK. Those who are able to pursue further studies after completing their studies at ROUC could pursue studies in the UK with our partner institutions. We also have direct online Diploma, Degrees and post graduate courses with at least ten UK universities such as Falmouth University, Queen Mary University of Plymouth, University of Central Lancashire, University of Hull, University of Portsmouth, University of Southampton, Data Academy and Bayes Business School with which we have agreements. We provide in classroom lectures to support the students and this is done by our competent and experienced expatriate professors and lecturers.
ROUC will arrange admissions and provide detailed of the courses is available, duration the fees for all the above institutions. Students can also apply for admission directly to our affiliated institutions in overseas locations, especially in the UK [provided they meet the admission requirements; or can do so after achieving initial qualifications at ROUC].
ROUC Campus will serve as a virtual campus to provide a fully functional, multifaceted online learning platform from 2024 and online delivery will be supplemented with regular visits by Professors and subject specialists from the UK. Thus, enabling limitless content and program delivery options – e-learning, combined with online tutoring, feedback and assessment; and some face-to-face learning experience for Accra campus-based students.

These universities can also offer students progression into their institutions and others in the UK or Europe, Canada Australia and the USA.

Other partners

We also have accreditation with a number of institutions (London College of Media; Bodevolution Academy; and Centre for Leadership and Legislative Studies) with the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) for general and vocational qualifications regulated by OFQUAL. Some of institutions are EDSET, OTHM, UKQS and UKRLP with recognition from a number of universities in the UK and main land Europe. This is necessary for the purposes of top-ups and progression to higher qualifications.
Through our partners, we are providing foundation courses, degree and Master programs including top up MBA. We are providing courses under ISM Education, an OFQUAL registered awarding body through Bodevolution Academy in the UK. ROUC is providing innovative interdisciplinary practical and skills-based training programs from Certificate to Masters in mainly Cosmetology, Aesthetics Courses in association with Bodevolution Academy as in the following:
DIPLOMA – LASER & AESTHETICS TREATMENTS; CERTIFICATE – BODY SHAPING TREATMENTS & TECHNOLOGIES; DIPLOMA – HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY; MSc NONSURGICAL FACIAL AESTHETIC & REGENERATIVE MEDICINE; CERTIFICATE – LASER & IPL TREATMENTS; CLINIC-BASED SHORT COURSES; This courses will begin with Introduction to body shaping, science & history behind fat deposits and cellulite. Awards will be in Health & Social Care Courses; Infection Prevention including the Covid19 and Health Social Care Certificates/Diploma.

As stated above our courses are approved by UK regulators (OFQUA - Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) through our partners as in the following details:

  • London College of Media (LMC) accredited by University of Chichester, OTHM, EDSET, AoHT, UKQS and others
  • Centre for Leadership & Legislative Studies (FLLS) which accredited by ProQual, a UK awarding body along with Global Ripples
  • BODEVOLUTION, Bode Academy Ltd (London) Cosmetology course, treatment and franchise; Health Recruitment Agency in London; British Film School ( (Birmingham and London). This partner is UK accredited by UK awarding including ISM, Edecel, OTHM, University of Chichester providing Cosmetology as one the main courses.

Cosmetology Diploma in Laser/IPL Laser and Aesthetic Treatment with Practical attachment in the UK, Poland or Dubai, due to extensive use of technology

This is a specialist course involving a range of non-surgical and non-invasive aesthetic body treatments. It involves treatments & technologies, innovation in the aesthetics market. Bodevolution Academy is a lead training provider and associated with The Jozef Dietl University in Poland and an approved centre of a range of Ofqual British awarding bodies. Management & Short Skill Base training in the work place or on ROUC Campus

ROUC delivers accredited training which includes Management, Creative, Media Production, Travel and Tourism, hospitality, Office Assistant, Clerical Training, Receptionist and Customer Service. AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF ROUC

  • vii) Initiate and maintain a industrial development and information systems,
  • viii) Encourage the standardization and improvement of techniques and materials related to education or learning,
  • ix) Provide, promote, review and coordinate training Programmes organized by the public and training centres for skill and business ideas incubation and management to help self employment and entrepreneurship.
  • x) Accredit and register and to cancel, suspend or reinstate the registration of any registered
  • xi) To be socially responsible and responsive to global warming and poverty alleviation through education and learning.

ROUC aims at becoming a major player in Ghana’s educational system and development partners, providing support, direction and guidance to the industry. The objective to help achieve further growth, development generate a more competitive approach to provision of education and attempt at eliminating the current difficulties and challenges facing the education industry.


Mission

ROUC is an institution with a difference – breaking new academic grounds, an institution that is caring for its students, give them support, guidance in a way that a parent will treat their child. The aim is to help the students as much as to achieve their goals and aspirations. It is not about the fees or the academic qualification but we make sure that we turn out students who are tuned to the development around them with responsibility and citizenship wherever they go in the world. We shall assist students in obtaining jobs, helping setting up businesses and achieving personal development and goals. Our education institution will help provide places for many Ghanaians second cycle students as a matter of preference due to the standard of education in terms of quality of teaching, facilities and care. We are setting up new standard by which other similar institutions will measure themselves against. We will assist students who unable or cannot afford to get admission in other Ghana universities so that their future will remain as bright as others in privileged backgrounds. We are aware of the challenges and the need to provide excellent level of education to match or beat other competitors in order to help maintain standard of education in Ghana or even provide improvement to the current level of education in the country.
